Brenda I. (Rhine) Bernstein

Brenda I. Rhine Bernstein, 74, of Beavertown, passed away Monday, December 15, 2025, at her home.

Born September 15, 1951, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Cecil R. and Sarakathryn (McCardle) Rhine.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel A. Bernstein Sr.; infant sister, Laureen Rhine; sons-in-law, Todd K. Sutton, and Roger L. Aitkin.

She is survived by her children, Daniel A. Bernstein Jr. and wife, Maylee, of Granville, Heather K. Sutton, of Lewistown, Marie M. Bernstein, of Lewistown, Sarakathryn Bernstein Aitkin, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Andrew P. Bernstein and wife, Savannah, Sara E. Bernstein, Allison D. Cummings and husband, Colt, Caleb L. Bernstein and wife, Kristin, Judas M. Aultz, Dustin Aitkin and companion Megan Morgan, Morgan Aitkin Bair and husband, Kevin; great-grandchildren, Bently, August, Finnan; and a sister, Penne Treaster, of Alfarata.

Brenda graduated from Lewistown High School as part of the Class of 1969. She dedicated her professional life to helping others, working as a dietician assistant at both the Laurelton Center and the Selinsgrove Center.

Brenda was a supporter of PETA and held a strong passion for animal rights. She also loved reading and enjoyed spending her free time with books.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Mount Rock Cemetery, with Reverend Chris Lutz officiating.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Brenda’s memory are invited to make memorial contributions to PETA at 501 Front St., Norfolk, VA 23510.
